Gray Doors

Back in January, I talked about painted interior doors and how I was thinking of painting a couple of my doors gray.  Well, I did it!

Here's my tiny pantry door

and my entryway closet.

I'm horrid at remembering to take "before" pictures as I'm incredibly impulsive and basically just start slapping paint around without considering that I should blog about it.  Sorry!  I do totally love it and surprise, surprise, my husband likes it, too.  He doesn't always have much enthusiasm for my home projects so "I like it" rather than "Grunt, I guess it's alright, grunt" is a huge complement.  Huge.

I think that painting cheap, hollow builder doors goes a long way toward making them look better while adding some depth and diminsion, too.

The color is Sherwin William's Dovetail from their HGTV line.  SW has giant sample pots and I actually just used the sample to paint both doors.  Their samples come in the satin finish so it wasn't what I would chosen since I've always used a gloss on doors but I really like it.  And why waste a huge sample pot?

  1. They look great! Unexpected and a huge step up from the plain white we see all the time.
